José Justicia was born in Granada (Spain) in 1975. He received his Degree from the University of Granada (1998) and obtained his Ph. D. Degree at the University of Granada (2004) supervised by Prof. J. M. Cuerva, and granted by Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnología. He performed a postdoctoral stay in the group of Prof. Andreas Gansäuer at the University of Bonn, granted by University of Granada and Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia (2004-2006). From 2006 to 2009, he had a contract from “Juan de la Cierva” Program. From 2009 to 2011, he had a “Reincorporacion de Doctores” contract from University of Granada. In 2011, he promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Organic Chemistry at the University of Granada. He is author of more than 40 articles.
Organometallic Chemistry, Synthesis of Natural Products, Free-Radical Chemistry, Organic Synthesis
Dr. José Justicia main research interests are focused in the development of new methods in Organic Chemistry, mainly using organometallic reagents, and the application in the synthesis of natural products. In this context, Dr. Justicia is also interested in the field of free-radical chemistry promoted by titanocene(III) complexes and their application in synthesis. Additionally, other interests of Dr. Justicia are the preparation of new devices for photophysics studies, HAT processes promoted by organometallic complexes and the preparation of deuterated standards for food analysis.
